The winner of an Academy Award for his iconic portrayal of GANDHI, in addition to two Golden Globes, two BAFTA Awards, and countless other accolades, Sir Ben Kingsley has also earned Oscar nominations for his memorable roles in BUGSY, SEXY BEAST, and HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG. Most recently, Kingsley more recent work includes ENDER’S GAME, IRON MAN 3, HUGO, THE DICTATOR, SHUTTER ISLAND, PRINCE OF PERSIA and ELEGY.

Sir Ben Kingsley began his acting career as a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he took on some of the most challenging stage roles such as Brutus in JULIUS CAESAR, and the title roles in HAMLET and OTHELLO. His stage career continues to thrive, and his recent productions include THE COUNTRY WIFE, THE CHERRY ORCHARD, A BETROTHAL, and WAITING FOR GODOT. Kingsley was a decade-long veteran of the screen when he was cast as Mohandas K. Gandhi in Richard Attenborough’s GANDHI, which went on to earn eight total Academy Awards after its release in 1982. His followed that with critically praised roles in BETRAYAL, TURTLE DIARY, HAREM, PASCALI’S ISLAND, WITHOUT A CLUE and THE CHILDREN. Since then, Kingsley crafted memorable turns in SNEAKERS, SEARCHING FOR BOBBY FISCHER, DAVE, SCHINDLER’S LIST, OLIVER TWIST, THE WACKNESS, TRANSSIBERIAN, 50 DEAD MEN, and WAR, INC.

Kingsley will also appear in a wide array of upcoming releases. Next up is A COMMON MAN by Sri Lankan filmmaker Chandran Rutnam, followed by A BIRDER’S GUIDE TO EVERYTHING, an independent comedy. He has also just finished production on several films, including LEARNING TO DRIVE (with ELEGY director Isabel Coixet and co-star Patricia Clarkson); the animated THE BOXTROLLS; THE PHYSICIAN, based on Noah Gordon’s novel; the futuristic thriller OUR ROBOT OVERLORDS; and ELIZA, with Michael Caine and Kate Beckinsale and based on a short story by Edgar Allan Poe.
